The choice of countertop is a key decision when designing a kitchen. The right countertop can add depth, beauty, and enhance the overall look of an entire room.
Since the inception of Dimanti Stone Works in the fall of 2004, owners Anita and Phil DiMambro have been committed to providing finished surfaces of the utmost quality and beauty to their consumers.
Currently operating from their location in Oldecastle's industrial district, Dimanti Stone Works fabricates and installs granite, marble and other natural stone products, as well as man-manufactured quartz throughout the southwestern Ontario region.
Phil DiMambro, a Civil Engineering Technologist, found his calling while he was an Industrial Construction Manager and discovered Diamond Polished Concrete while working on a project in Dundee, Michigan.
Upon seeing six hundred thousand square feet of beautiful diamond polished light reflective concrete floor, he went off and bought his own concrete polishing equipment, and this led him to polish marble and granite and thus, Dimanti Stone Works was born.
Phil embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of his father, Steve DiMambro, who owned DiMambro Construction in Windsor, and carries on his reputation for honesty and hard work.
"Phil is not only meticulous to detail, but extremely charming and a great pleasure to work with. His eternal optimism sometimes gets him into hot water, as he is excited and eager to take on any new challenge in stonework.
He believes in his team and always encourages them to consistently chase progression, through continuing education and workshops," says Anita.
Anita is currently studying Interior Design in school and is the buyer for Dimanti's sizeable inventory. She has a passion and excellent understanding of the product, and the latest trends in utilizing them.
Bringing your dream kitchen to life is a pleasant and exciting experience with Dimanti Stone Works. Once the cabinets have been selected and the flooring picked out, it is time to add the personality and crowning jewel to a well-designed kitchen.
The friendly front-end staff welcomes you to visit their 4,500-square foot showroom, with a wide variety of the finest stones of classic and exotic palettes for your review and selection.
Once the stone is selected, digital measurements are taken to make a template, which is then sent digitally to a computer numerically controlled machine that shapes the stone with ultimate precision.
This accelerates the fabrication process, freeing up their stone craftsman and service people to work on the "human side" of the business: consulting, hand-finishing and installing the stone.
Not only are these stone products stunning to look at, they are also environmentally sustainable. Granite and quartz are LEED certified products, and the company itself is taking eco-friendly measures to responsibly dispose of the 'sludge' that is produced when cutting, shaping and polishing stone.
The team at DSW consistently delivers unparalleled service and expertise with homeowners, architects, designers and builders, and use the industry's most technologically advanced equipment.
They understand and respect the longevity that accompanies stone like granite and believe only a quality fabricator should install the stone to add value to it.
"We are confident that our team has the know-how to deliver your dream kitchen regardless of its complexities. In this, we take great pride. We often hear customers saying, 'There are so many of you guys in the city doing this' and the answer to that is 'yes and no'. There are indeed several granite shops, but are they performing at a caliber that is admirable to you?" says Phil.
Currently, they are pursuing more commercial projects, proving that this local company has the drive and skill to pull off large and complicated commercial stone projects.
DSW is also experimenting with the serpentine seams, granite engravings, sloped contouring, and a few other top-secret initiatives.
Anita and Phil believe they have met and exceeded their initial goal for DSW - to provide the highest quality stone and professional customer service with the intention of introducing sophistication into southwestern Ontario's natural and engineered countertop industry. But they aren't resting on their laurels.
With the increased stone countertop demand, as it is now a mainstay of a quality built and designed home, the market has been flooded with fabricators who "just get the job done".
By continuing to push the local industry envelope and keeping up with the latest design techniques and technology, Dimanti Stone Works definitely has the staying power akin to their stone installations. TDM
